Luke Wright presents Yes

Luke Wright has become an institution at The Tolmen Centre and his almost yearly shows always attract a loyal audience – not least because he’s such a brilliant performer of the spoken word – be it it his heartfelt and sometimes polemical poems, or, usually after the interval, laugh-out-loud comedy. His new show ‘YES’ comes with the following description and a couple of reviews.

"Luke Wright used to think he had the answers. Now he's not so sure.

For twenty-five years, Fringe First winner Luke Wright has been writing poems that wrestle with the world around him. In this new show, he discovers that certainty is rarely as useful as he once thought.

As children grow up, heroes become more complicated and old certainties begin to wobble, Wright finds himself looking again: at the country he lives in, the people he loves, and even those he thought he'd already made his mind up about. Part poetry, part stand-up Yes. is about changing your mind without losing your convictions – and staying open in an increasingly entrenched world.
