About the show

From the Highlands and Islands of Scotland they've been literally blaazin' a trail for nearly 30 years.


Jenna Reid (Shetland), Kristan Harvey (Orkney), Rua Macmillan (Highlands) are joined by the driving accompaniment of Angus Lyon (piano), and Anna Massie (guitar). Multi-award winners as individuals, and collectively, The Blazers are the finest exponents of their native Scottish fiddle styles and always up for the craic!

Take a group of the hottest contemporary fiddle players from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and you've got Blazin' Fiddles on your hands. During a performance, the audience has a rare opportunity to hear pieces featuring the regional styles of each fiddler followed by all hands jumping in for a wonderful explosion of music. Fiddles and bows blaze away with guitar and piano for one of the most exciting and memorable fiddle ensembles ever to take the stage. What began as a project for the Highland Festival almost 15 years ago, continues as one of Scotland’s top traditional bands. From remote village halls to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Blazin’ Fiddles has delighted audiences with their highlands and islands tunes and tales whilst embodying the excitement, passion and sensitivity of Scottish music.
