About the show

Bring in the New Year at Annasach’s Hogmanay Ceilidh, held in the hidden gem of Edinburgh’s Old Town, The Counting House.

Doors open at 8.30pm, where you’ll be welcomed with a complimentary Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky (soft drink available). Dancing begins at 9pm, with a short break for the bells so you can refresh your glass and enjoy the moment, before returning to the floor until 12.30am.

Their dance caller Tricia will guide you through the dances, making this event perfect for beginners and seasoned ceilidh‑goers alike.

Google review -"What really stands out for me after being to a variety of ceilidhs across Edinburgh & Aberdeen many callers are half arsed. However Annasach properly teach you the steps, their caller is brilliant. If your not an expert definitely go to one of their ceilidhs..."

Tickets are priced at £32 and you will receive an e-ticket which should be brought with you on the evening. Please be advised that tickets are non-transferable and any requests for refunds must be made directly to the band. A small number of tickets will be available to purchase at the door, please be aware that both the box office and venue are cashless.

Annasach look forward to playing for you :)

Featuring - Annasach Ceilidh Band

Annasach Ceilidh Band appearing at this event

Annasach Ceilidh Band - available for all occasions from Aberdeen to Zurich!

Annasach (Gaelic for unusual, unconventional) are a three-piece ceilidh band plus dance caller and have been playing for ceilidhs, parties, birthdays, weddings and folk festivals since 1990 from Aberdeen to Zurich!

The sound of the band has a more folk based slant rather than traditional ceilidh with the current line-up being fiddle, keyboard and bass. This provides an energetic, vibrant sounding front line mixed with a forceful, funky piano and bass back line.

Our dance caller, Tricia, (who is probably the most important member of the band!) has years of experience and is guaranteed to calm any nerves and make sure that everyone enjoys themselves.
