In homage to the 100th year anniversary of the great Miles Davis’ birth, this special Festival show celebrates one of the greatest jazz records of all time: Kind of Blue. Guy Barker’s beautiful interpretation of the iconic album that everyone should have in their record collection will deliver the perfect Sunday afternoon with his Big Band and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Guy Barker
British trumpet maestro whose music is notable for its grace and invention. His original compositions confirm that he's a witty composer as well as a polished musical mind. As a sideman he has played with many major musicians, including Georgie Fame, Mike Westbrook, Frank Sinatra, Chris Hunter, Mike Oldfield, and Cleo Laine.

The BBC Concert Orchestra
Now celebrating a half century of broadcasting, this versatile orchestra varies its range from classical works and grand opera to light music and popular songs. They are regular performers at the Last Night of the Proms and their wide-ranging and eclectic repertoire can be heard on Radio and TV, including The Blue Planet soundtrack and Proms in the Park and on the concert platform with artists such as The Corrs, Nigel Kennedy and José Cura.
