About the show
“This is chamber folk at its very best” ***** RnR Magazine
“A banquet of fiddle music…gorgeous stuff.” FolkWorld
With the release of their 5th album ‘Live in Glasgow’, RANT remain at the forefront of the Scottish fiddle scene. The meeting of four of the country’s finest players, the quartet use just their fiddles to weave a tapestry of melodies, textures, layers and sounds.
Bethany Reid from Shetland, Anna Massie and Lauren MacColl from the Highland peninsula of the Black Isle, and Gillian Frame from the Isle of Arran join forces to showcase the combined resonance of their instruments with repertoire unearthed from both old collections and their own contemporary writing. RANT create a sound which is both spacious and lush, yet retaining all the earthy bite and spark synonymous with a Scottish fiddle player.
Three ticket prices - We're committed to bringing high quality roots music to Cambridge at affordable prices , and as such our advance ticket price is £12. However, if you'd like to see the artist take home a little more (over 80% of our ticket profit goes to artists), then there is now an option to pay slightly more (£14) if you are able to. There are also a very limited number of no-questions-asked concession tickets (£10).
If tickets remain then they will be sold on-the-door, but at a higher price.

Using just their fiddles, they weave a tapestry of melodies, textures, layers and sounds. Known for their work as soloists and with various bands, this is a celebration of the instrument they all have a passion for.
