Featuring - Ruth Majeed

Ruth Majeed
Ruth has spent more than two decades in theatre as an actor, teacher, facilitator, writer, and maker. Rooted in physical theatre and ensemble practice, her work has centred on collaboration, movement, improvisation, and storytelling built through experimentation rather than fixed scripts.
Having recently completed a Master’s degree in Drama at University of South Wales Ruth has been a lecturer for many years at Coleg y Cymoedd, encouraging students to see theatre as something physical, communal and alive.
She has built a reputation as a writer of sharp, warm Welsh comedies staged at the London Welsh Centre and Chapter Arts Centre, exploring identity, humour, and belonging. More recently, she returned to performing with a personal touring production across South Wales, blending Masks, stand-up, and theatrical storytelling to create work that was both comic and true, and explored the possibilities of human resilience.
At the heart of Ruth's career is the belief that theatre is created through connection and shared experience.
Sarah Seren
Sarah Seren is an artist, poet, photographer and zine creator originally from Aberdare, now living in Pontypridd. She views creativity as a therapeutic tool for self expression, improved wellbeing and an opportunity for community connection.
Sarah’s paintings have been exhibited in the Women and the Valleys exhibitions at Cynon Valley Museum and the Women Arts Association Wales exhibitions and the Neath Queen Street Gallery Open Art exhibition 2026, among others. Her poetry has been featured in publications including Dreich, The Broken Spine, Gigantic Tentacles and Culture Matters plus more. She is the creator and publisher of ‘Valleys Imaginings’ a literary and art zine based in the South Wales Valleys.

She works as an education worker and has enjoyed a varied career including spells in retail, education, the civil service and in a museum.
