For over two decades, Jelinek has been pulling apart fragments of vintage jazz, funk and rock and reshaping them into hazy, minimal compositions that feel precise yet gently unmoored. Rather than leaning on traditional instruments, he works with tiny slivers of sound: looping, slicing and reframing them until something strange and beautiful settles into place. Alongside releases under aliases including Farben and Gramm, he founded the Faitiche label as a home for his experiments and collaborations.
