Michael Shafar

Since leaving a career in law for comedy, Michael has been working hard to win his mother's forgiveness, and has (somewhat) achieved that, having performed around Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US and on international waters.

From 2015-2016 he hosted Channel 31's satirical news show The Leak and developed the viral sensation Round Squares, a satirical webpage and web series that has reached millions of Australians.

In 2016, Michael reached the RAW Comedy National Grand Final, represented Australia in the Laugh Factory's Funniest Person in the World Competition and toured across Asia, headlining at some of the continent's largest comedy clubs. He also developed, produced and hosted the showcases Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars and 3 Course Comedy, which continue to sell out shows.

2017 was another huge year for Michael, selling out his entire season and extra show of Jewish-ish at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, selling out shows at Sydney Fringe Comedy, performing on ABC's Comedy Bites, triple j's Good Az Friday, landing a gig writing jokes for Channel 10's The Project and appearing in the show's sketches, as well as being selected to perform internationally on Carnival Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruises.

In 2018 Michael toured his new show Kosher Bacon to sold out crowds in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne to rave reviews. In 2019 he performed his biggest tour yet with 50/50, his darkest and funniest show yet, chronicling his diagnosis and treatment for testicular cancer.

Having started performing comedy in the summer of 2016, Jamie has quickly established himself as a rising star on the comedy circuit. He has reached the finals of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? and The Musical Comedy Awards, as well as being shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award. Jamie was also the runner up at Hastings Fringe New Comedian Of The Year.

Jamie’s stand up has been described as a mix of short stories and one liners, delivered with an instant likability and an understated confidence. Covering a range of topics including veganism, his mixed race heritage and coming to terms with entering adulthood.

Meryl has delighted comedy audiences, hosted pop concerts and performed at the Hammersmith Apollo, supporting Frankie Boyle as part of his national tour.In his book Work!Consume!Die! he calls Meryl "Inspiringly funny".

Her solo stand up show Bad Mother… was a hit at Edinburgh and Brighton festivals. Directed by Foster's Comedy Award nominee Thom Tuck, it received 5 star reviews and was The Times’ Critic’s Choice.

A talented and sought after gag writer, she has worked on numerous flagship panel shows and comedies for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Dave; as well as being joke writer for magicians Noel Qualter and Andi Gladwin.

Radio credits include writing and performing her own comedy series 'The Hysterical Method Of Conception' for Woman's Hour (BBC Radio 4) and a Sony Radio Academy Award Nomination for Best Breakfast Show.
