About the show
Named after the iconic meme blending Shania Twain with the cult classic film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Shania Twainsaw Massacre is a post-hardcore five-piece from Bristol. Since releasing their dark and emotionally charged debut EP in December 2024, the band has been steadily building a reputation as a distinctive voice within the city’s vibrant music scene.
Now, in 2026, they plan to release their sophomore EP, Horsemaning, on Friday 21st August, and celebrate its release with their debut headline show at Exchange, Bristol.
The lead single from the upcoming release, Dog-Friendly Bone Museum, is a taste of what’s to come, tackling themes of anxiety, the feeling that something bad is going to happen, dread and feeling in the way.
The band have started building their signature sound, with the help of Rowan Deverson, who has recorded, mixed and mastered all of Twainsaw’s tracks since the debut EP.
Each track descends into chaos; a loud, uncompromising amalgamation of noisy guitars, heavy bass and frantic drums, which is reflected in their searing live sets.
