Viktoria Mullova

Russian-born world class violinist who studied at the Central Music School of Moscow and at the Moscow Conservatoire. Her extraordinary virtuosity captured international attention when she won first prize at the 1980 Sibelius Competition in Helsinki and the Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1982. 'Among mainstream big-name violin soloists, Viktoria Mullova is rare in her enthusiasm for period style and historical practice' (The Sunday Times) 'Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata is one of the miracles of the repertory... and is here freshly re-imagined by Mullova' (The Observer) 'This new Viktoria Mullova release will probably raise as many hackles as it does roars of approval' (The Daily Telegraph, May 2010).
