Azure

Azure5 play creative, tuneful jazz, blues and jive music. Newly formed in 2026, the band has already performed around the South Coast area. For this concert they will cover a wide range of music, from Dave Brubeck to Edmundo Ros, Chick Corea to Mose Allison and John Lennon to Gerry Rafferty.

Sarah Abbott plays saxophone and bass clarinet; she's also a music teacher, bandleader and member of groups including Liquorice and Jazzmo. Anita Somner is a rare and popular player of jazz flute.

Peter Hall is one of Dorset's finest jazz drummers, having spent much of his career in the USA with various jazz and blues bands. Reg Squires plays bass, sings and is a veteran of the 1960s Soho scene, where his musical colleagues and friends included Jon Lord (of Deep Purple) and Ronnie Wood.

Stephen Godsall plays guitar, sings and does all the arrangements for the band. He's also a composer who records for the Belgian Jazz'Halo label. A wide selection of his music can be found at https://www.youtube.com/@StephenGodsall
