About the show
One of the best folk big bands around, TRADarr bring a vast repertoire of traditional folk songs, given the folk-rock treatment, back to the much improved Corn Exchange.
Up front we have PJ Wright, Guy Fletcher, Marion Fleetwood, Gregg Cave, and Gemma Shirley, backed by Mark Stevens and Brendan O'Neill. Some of the very best folk rockers around right now.
TRADarrr have graced the stage at Wessex Acoustic several times and feature top musicians who are also personal friends. This makes them the fitting artists to bring Wessex Acoustic to a close after 24 years of folk music in Dorset.
Featuring
Tradarrr
TRADarrr - a 21st Century take on Folk Rock. As you’d expect, there is precision percussion, searingly tasteful guitars, melodic basses and fiery fiddles that one associates with the genre. But in addition, find brass in a truly British style – the dazzling brightness of Purcell, the oomph of Elgar, the emotive richness of a Yorkshire brass band soloist - but also hints of jazz, trad and modern, and even the occasional mariachi riff, string sections, and countless astute references to a long legacy of pop and rock in its many forms.
