Rooted in traditional music and song, informed by the modern electronic music that grew out of their hybrid East London heritage, this radical duo are known for their intense live shows exploring the raw holler of folk, electronica, spoken word and intricate rustic dobro guitar.

Nicola Kearey and Ian Carter make full-force reworkings of centuries-old work-songs, speaking to contemporary issues of class, using multi-layered sonic palettes to deeply reflect hidden histories, told with a razor-sharp authenticity.

Four-times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated Stick In The Wheel are taking the folk scene by storm with their incendiary performances of traditional English folk music, seamlessly blending it with their own songs and breathing new life into this culture for new generations. They record to the sound of sirens and birdsong in their long-rented East End front rooms: the music is as authentic as it comes, capturing a culture that is rapidly disappearing, and is at times brutally honest and grabbing.
