Burning Rope – Blues Rock

About the show

On Friday 13th November we are pleased to welcome back blues rock band Burning Rope to JJJ.
Following the sad death of frontman Matt Long in October 2024, two of the remaining members of multiple UK Blues award winners Catfish wanted to continue to write and perform together so have teamed up with the excellent Mitch Weaving on drums, who was a regular dep with Catfish, along with guitarist Alex Voysey (nominated by the UK Blues Awards 2025 Best Album category for his album Blues in Isolation), who has been gigging heavily with The Alex Voysey Band in recent years, to form a new band: Burning Rope!
Along with Burning Rope material, the band will be performing the songs written for Catfish by keyboard player Paul Long, and also songs he wrote for his previous band The Riotous Brothers.
We're really looking forward to this gig as last time they were with us they tore the house down and did the memory of Matt Long proud in the process!
