Colchester?s own PET NEEDS kick off the new year ahead of the release of their fourth studio album ?Elbows Out! This Is Capitalism?, landing 27th March 2026 on Xtra Mile Recordings.
Written throughout a relentless 2025?zig?'zagging across the UK, US and Europe on headline tours, support runs and festival slots?the new record dives head?'first into the realities of being a DIY punk band in a world of streaming algorithms, social?'media overload and sky?'high costs. It?s a satirical, story?'driven concept album following the band as they ?buy a second?'hand punk rock career at auction? and try (and fail) to make it work.

Across 12 genre?'spanning tracks you?ll find frenetic punk energy, melodic introspection, beat?'heavy party anthems and guest appearances from CJ Ramone, legendary auctioneer Eric Olson, plus friends The Whops and Jess Guise.

Recorded by George Perks (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Mogwai, Skindred), the album follows their Top 20 record ?Intermittent Fast Living? (2024) and marks a decade of Pet Needs?rising from pub back rooms and house shows to international touring, radio play from Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy and Kerrang! Radio, and a rapidly growing fanbase.
