Ruth's songs are full of warmth and soulful simplicity. Her sound has an understated funkiness and her songs manage to sound retro and refreshingly modern at the same time. Her inspiration is drawn from the master songwriters: Sting, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan and James Taylor to name a few.
