Three time BBC Radio 2 play-listed artist, Callaghan, releases her stunning new album, ?The Music You Gave To Me? on May 16, along with a new UK headline tour.

?The most personal album I?ve ever written or recorded? is how Callaghan sums up her latest album. A collection of 8 tracks featuring some of the most personal and heart wrenching subject matter that she has ever tackled.

Putting these particular songs to tape was a major step in what has been an incredibly difficult couple of years for the singer-songwriter after losing her dad, John, to lung cancer in 2023. During his short but brutal battle with the illness, Callaghan had been writing something special. A song for her dad, called ?The Music You Gave To Me?. A thank you to the person who had taught her her first chords on the guitar and piano, and made music such a huge part of her life.

?It was all the things I couldn?t say to him?, Callaghan sighs, ?but I just knew they needed saying somehow. He needed to know how much of a gift he?d given me and how much it meant to me.?

Despite the pain of losing her dad and feeling very reticent to play or write music again, gradually Callaghan forced herself back to the piano, writing the rest of the album as a tribute to the person who made music such a big part of her life.

To celebrate the launch of the album Callaghan created a special group called CALLAGHAN?S MUSIC RADIO CLUB where fans could tune into a special radio show/podcast each day and hear all about the making of the album, the music that inspired it, and share their own experiences of grief.

Originally from Lincolnshire, Callaghan moved to the US in 2010 to record her first album with Grammy nominated US artist SHAWN MULLINS. 10 years of touring extensively across the US and building up her own headline tour audiences followed. She recorded two more studio albums - one while living in Nashville with hit writer/producer Dennis Matkosky (Keith Urban/Leann Rimes), and the other after moving to Los Angeles to work with Grammy winning producer team Starr Parodi and Jeff Fair (Mission Impossible/ James Bond).

Back in the UK Callaghan?s music has received fantastic support and praise from Radio 2, as well as many high profile taste makers.

After a break from touring to raise her two daughters (age 3 & 5) Callaghan has recently returned to the stage with a UK summer tour including multiple sold out shows.

And there are exciting times ahead?lots more touring, a live album in the works, plus the ?Callaghan?s Music Radio Club? podcast becoming a regular fortnightly feature.
