About the show
Our final day of Summer in Barham presents The Red Stripe Band, guaranteed to get things moving with their energetic and engaging blend of jive, rock n roll and boogie woogie classics.
Led by Red Stripe on boogie piano the band feature a star studded line-up with singer Lara de Belder (All Female London Gay Big Band), on bass Costa Tancredi (Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse) on Baritone Sax Sim Murray (The Beat) on Tenor Sax Sophie Burke, on Trumpet Lee Vivian (Suzi Quatro, Will Young, Nick Heyward) and on Drums Nick Marangoni (Massimo Ranieri).
The band have played at almost every Jazz and Blues Festival in the land including a memorable show at Montreux Jazz Festival. Celebrating thirty years in the business, they recently released their fifth album.
Their influences range from the big bands and the jive giants of the 1940s to the pounding piano men of the 1950s with a touch of ska for good measure.
