About the show

We’re delighted to announce that Oxford legends Beaker will be playing at The Pig Place.

Formed in Oxford in 1994, Beaker built a reputation for their unique mix of indie pop, punk, grunge and cabaret energy before splitting in 1999. After more than 25 years away, the band have reunited with a new line-up, new music, and the same raw spirit that made them underground favourites in the Oxford scene.

Fresh from a sold-out reunion show at the Jericho Tavern and the release of their new single 50 Men, Beaker are back — louder, sharper, and just as uncompromising as ever.

Joining them on the night will be Oxford’s own Emma Hunter, whose cinematic blend of flamenco-inspired guitar, layered vocal loops and haunting melodies has made her one of the most distinctive voices on the Oxford music scene. Mixing atmospheric soundscapes with trip-hop rhythms and powerful harmonies, Emma’s live performances are immersive, dramatic and completely captivating. A regular on the Oxford circuit and a Truck Festival performer, her music channels the spirit of David Lynch, desert noir and late-night cabaret into something entirely her own.

Expect big hooks, noisy guitars, hypnotic atmospheres and a night of glorious independent music chaos at The Pig Place.
