About the show

Introducing jazz vocalist Camille Rose; A spellbinding live performer, narrator, and improviser, born and raised in London. Through storytelling rooted in the past and shaped by modern perception, Camille rekindles a deep love for the jazz vocal greats while continuing to push the music forward into new ground, bridging jazz tradition and modernity with control and freedom.
A graduate of the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire, Camille has collaborated with some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians and brings over a decade of performance experience to stages including Ronnie Scott’s, the 606 Club, and Pizza Express Dean Street, where she performed sold-out show's for the EFG London Jazz Festival.
Camille and her band perform her latest EP release; SUNSHOWERS- inspired by, and celebrating jazz legend Billie Holiday, as well as other favourite arrangements from within the jazz diaspora.
SUNSHOWERS:
Taking us through the various shades of Billie’s skilful story-telling, ‘SUNSHOWERS’ three tracks offer a fresh perspective of a woman’s navigation of her psyche; her sexuality, and her morality. A blend of old and new jazz; ‘SUNSHOWERS’ combines the rich legacy and tradition of late 30’s swing jazz, with contemporary rhythms, techniques and interpretations.

Camille Rose is a versatile vocalist, story-teller and improviser whose ascent into the London jazz scene is not to be missed! Her mellifluous tones, described as “the lovechild of Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse”, effortlessly blend traditional jazz sensibility with soulful inflection, drawing inspiration from an expanse of artists such as Billie Holiday, Jazzmeia Horn and Betty Carter.
