About the show

Ian Bruce and Kev Green are musical veterans who have come together from two totally different spheres. Ian Bruce is one of the most highly regarded of Scotland's singer-songwriters. Over a 40-year career of songwriting, performing and collaborating, he has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, and his live repertoire includes a mixture of traditional and self-penned songs alongside his much-loved musical arrangements of Robert Burns poems.

Meanwhile, Kev Green hails from the more raucous rock and fun-filled pubs and venues of his local Kent in the eighties - and brings this energy with him onto the stage.

Together, they woo their audiences using strong vocal harmonies, guitar, ukulele, hand percussion and a strong sense of humour and commitment to music and the job in hand. Their stage demeanour is not only musically harmonious, but there is an obvious strong friendship which instantaneously grabs and includes every audience member.

Their most recent album "Believe Me, I'm Lying" includes ten examples of their thoughtful collaborative songwriting and was nominated as Celtic Radio Album of the Year.

"A great folk night is made up of several elements: strong material, good harmonies, sensitive accompaniment and the all-important connection with the audience. Ian Bruce & Kev Green brought it all to their performance.” - Stephen Quigg, Irvine Folk Club

Refreshments will be available at the Folk of Gloucester cafe and bar.
