About the show

Accomplished folk musicians Cathy Tattersfield and Jess Arrowsmith, known as "TatterSmith", are bringing their new album of traditional Gloucestershire songs home to be performed in its county of origin. Two strong voices - with rich harmonies, subtle arrangements and occasional fiddle, whistle and concertina - give an airing to a collection of English traditional songs from the GlosTrad web archive. Many of these songs have been performed seldom or not at all since their collection. The album, "New Laid Eggs", provides an opportunity for others to learn and share them further.

Jess Arrowsmith is a member of the folk supergroup The Melrose Quartet alongside Nancy Kerr, James Fagan and Rich Arrowsmith. Cathy Tattersfield, an adapter of traditional material, "displays a deft hand and thoughtful personal style. She is also a sensitive instrumentalist whose accompaniments give spacious and creative support to solo and ensemble work", says Nancy Kerr.

Bar and refreshments available. Tickets: £15 general admission, £10 concessions, with proceeds supporting the upkeep of our historic building.
