Ryedale Festival's series of recitals featuring all the members of the woodwind family of instruments begins with one of the world’s finest oboists playing a characteristically varied programme, including a richly romantic sonata by York Bowen, a recent work by James MacMillan for three oboes (where Nicholas Daniel will be joined by two of his students) and some stunning virtuoso showpieces.
