The Art Of Marcel Ronay: A New Objectivity In The Wake Of World War I
Marcel Ronay (1910-1997) was a member of the 'Neue Sachlichkeit' or 'New Objectivity' movement. Ronay's pen and ink drawings, wood cut prints and oil paintings in Vienna in the 1920s and 1930s depicted hedonism, sensuality, eroticism and decadence. He continued to work into the 1970s, mastering more than ten different types of media. Fellow 'Neue Sachlichkeit' artists included George Grosz, Otto Dix, Max Beckmann and Rudolph Schlichter.
