Noémie Goudal: The Geometrical Determination Of The Sunrise

The New Art Gallery Walsall is delighted to present the first solo exhibition in a public gallery by French artist Noémie Goudal.

Goudal is known for her large-format photographs, which explore the relationship between nature and artifice, truth and fiction. The artist’s new works show concrete Brutalist structures orientated towards the sky and suspended in natural environments such as the ocean, beach or rainforest. These images take inspiration from Indian cosmic architecture and refer to humankind’s age-old fascination with reaching the sky. Recent photographs and stereoscopic images will be shown alongside a major new multi-panel installation and film commissioned by The New Art Gallery Walsall expressly for this exhibition.
