West End Workshops

This summer Swansea Grand Theatre, in partnership with the City and County of Swansea's Arts in Education Team, are offering places on a one week workshop. Four top West End professionals will be delivering the workshop in Swansea Grand Theatre's Arts Wing from 4th to 8th August.

Each day the participants will work on a different West End top show, including The Lion King, Matilda, Wicked and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The workshop leaders are all performers who have appeared in these shows. In addition to this, the students will have a chance to experience elements that go into West End shows, including prop making, costumes and make up.

From the 4th to the 7th the days will be split into a morning and an afternoon session: 9am to 1.00pm and 1.30pm to 5.30pm. The morning is for 8 to 11 year olds and the afternoon for 12 to 16 year olds. There are twenty-five places for each session. Both groups will come together on Friday 8th August to work on a piece to be performed that evening which friends and family will be able to attend for a small cost.

In order to secure a place on the workshop please call Swansea Grand Theatre's Box Office. Please state either the morning or afternoon session and payment is required at the time of booking; the deadline is Saturday 26th July. On receipt of payment a parental consent form will be sent out and this must be returned by Friday 1st August.
