The Sentence

A new play by Martin Lytton.

An historical play, this is the story, based on fact, of John Scrivener who is sentenced to death by burning, and his daughter Joan who is sentenced to light the fire; both victims of illogical and unreasonable rules which have angry redolence with anyone who is confronted by insane enforcement of law which is outdated, outmoded and cruel.

Martin Lytton is a Cheltenham based writer who has had a number of works performed at the Everyman Theatre.
