Folk-rock luminaries The Oysterband announce an exclusive concert in Stroud as part of a limited number of winter dates at a selection of their favourite UK venues.

Winners of BBC Radio 2 2012 Folk Awards’ Best Album, Best Group and Best Traditional Track, The Oysterband are a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist outfit who have long since proven themselves one of the most accomplished in folk.

After two and a half years taken up with Ragged Kingdom, their hugely successful collaboration with June Tabor, Oysterband are set to bring a classic set laced with a taster of new material from a brand new studio album to be released in January 2014.

Originally emerging from a scene that gave way to other top artists such as Levellers, The Pogues, and The Waterboys, their 37-year career has seen them release a staggering 22 albums through their various line-ups and musical incarnations.

Acoustic at heart, The Oysterband are sometimes intense, sometimes rocking. Having toured in 35 countries and appeared at countless world-renowned venues and festivals, they never fail to stun listeners with their powerful, captivating live performances, consistently adding to their already extensive fan base.
