Musical Landscapes

Landscape is a central theme of every ENF.

This spectacular concert travels far to the North for Adams’ evocation of Alaska and Sibelius’ awe-inspiring vision of Finland and West to MacMillan’s stormy Iona. Britten’s Les Illuminations is sung by one of the finest tenors of the moment, Allan Clayton (also performing in Sunday’s Closing Concert).

At the helm, the outstanding young prize-winning conductor, Clemens Schuldt.

Programme to include:

James Macmillan: Í (A Meditation on Iona)
John Luther Adams: … and bells remembered …
Britten: Les Illuminations
Sibelius: Symphony No 7 in C major, Op 105

This event takes place in Cambo Barn on the Cambo Estate. The venue is a working potato barn, without its own heating or insulation. Efforts will be made to warm the barn up before performances, however please bear in mind that heaters cannot be on during performances due to the noise they make, so choose your clothing and footwear carefully!
