Lullabies: Jackie Oates
One of the best-known names in English folk music today, multi-BBC Folk Award winner Jackie Oates has embarked on an exciting journey across the country, collecting those specials rhymes and rhythms which lull babies to sleep.
The full collection of lullabies will be held at the national folk archive and tonight’s concert is your chance to hear a wonderful selection as Jackie plays with her trio to reinterpret songs and tunes that go right to the heart of family life.
Jackie Oates
Jackie Oates is a rising star who was a BBC Young Folk Award finalist in 2003 and has since had a MOJO top 10 album, numerous gigs and festival appearances as well as tours with the legendary Show of Hands.
