A musical within a comedy!

Grab your finest flapper dress or tuxedo and get ready to be entertained by dazzling 1920s characters in this raucous production of The Drowsy Chaperone. This is a musical that's sure to have you laughing out loud and tapping along with its larger-than-life gangsters, flappers and Latin Lotharios.

The show begins when a die-hard musical-theatre fan plays his favourite album on his turntable, and the musical literally bursts to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love.

Leigh Operatic and Dramatic Society originally formed in 1915 as a result of a concert party organised during the first World War. LODS have presented shows ranging from grand opera to the avant-garde (including 3 world premieres) as well as countless entertainments for charitable organisations. Today they continue this tradition, always ready to take a risk in order to offer something, something exciting, but above all something entertaining.
