Chloe Hanslip
Popular violinist Chloë Hanslip makes a welcome return to Turner Sims. Heifetz was a good friend of Gershwin and his affection for the material is evident in his arrangements of songs from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. They retain all the character of the original songs, but with the addition of virtuosic elements such as double-stopping and jazzy flourishes to showcase Heifetz's performing style. Whilst Beethoven's sonata is one of the most well-known, Delius' 1892 work went unpublished during his lifetime but has found an enthusiastic following since its rediscovery in the 1950s.

It's difficult to pinpoint the moment when a child prodigy makes the transition from being a rapidly rising star to an established performer. For anyone who hears teenager Chloe Hanslip perform, the message is simple - she's arrived! Chloe has recorded two highly acclaimed CDs with the London Symphony Orchestra and won the award of Young British Classical Performer 2003 at the Classical Brit awards. She has performed as soloist with, amongst others, the London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Halle, Royal Scottish National, Malaysian Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony and Seattle Symphony orchestras.
