An Evening with Christopher Hogwood, an SMT honorary artistic patron.

On its journey from composer’s manuscript to concert hall performance a musical work passes through the hands of editor and intepreter. Both make decisions, often based on personal choices, and both have to satisfy the tastes and needs of a changing public.

Christopher Hogwood draws examples from editing music ranging from the 17th to the 20th century, and illustrates with historical recordings of well-known vocal and choral masterpieces.
