Boxing Day Jazz Breakfast: Mike Hatchard + Alan Barnes + Bobby Worth
Many consider Alan Barnes to be the finest sax player ever to have emerged from these shores. This reputation makes him very in demand, so were very pleased to have secured his services over the festive season, doubly pleased in fact as we've persuaded one of the country's top jazz drummers, Bobby Worth, to join him.
Boxing Day at the Ropetackle is something of a tradition, so expect that magical mix - plenty of unmitigated fun infused with a great deal of consummately executed music with passion.

Acclaimed jazz pianist and composer. His works have included musical interpretations of the classic tales, rhymes and children's stories.

Alan Barnes
A key figure on the British jazz scene since the late 1970s, Alan Barnes' strong tone, assured improvisations and imaginative arranging technique have marked him out as one of the country's top players, respected by both his audience and fellow players alike. Alan has broadcast regularly over a ten-year period with the BBC Big Band and Radio Orchestra.
He played on film and television soundtracks and jingles. In 2001 and 2006 Alan received the prestigious BBC Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year award.
