Rophonic

Sheffield's widescreen musical adventurers Rophonic bring a special event to the Lantern on 11 September - a night evoking the spirit of performance and stories of the twisted world of the entertainer.

Rophonic weave electronics, harp, guitar and voice into an earthy, dreamlike sound. Each song is a perfectly formed vignette that will take you somewhere strange and wonderful - a failed seance - a clifftop pact with gods and monsters - a scheduled airline flight to the afterlife.

Each live show is unique, with its own theme and large screen projections. "You are the Audience" on 11 September is about the deep human need to entertain, and the strange world the performer and audience enter into to make it happen. The band always seek to use a venue appropriate to the mood and subject of the music - the Lantern Theatre was the obvious and perfect choice. The "You Are The Audience" mini album will also be launched at the event.
