Pansy Cheung

This 90 minute intensive workshop has an emphasis on learning basic steps and combinations to piece together a simple burlesque choreography, while interpreting a classic burlesque track.

Pansy Cheung aims not only to teach a complete dance routine, but also to introduce you to the 'vocabulary' of dance, teaching steps that you can adapt to use in your own choreographies. She breaks down the music into clear sections, to demonstrate how repetition is used to put together a coherent dance piece, and how you too can choose to interpret rhythm, harmony or melody to add dynamic contrast to your own performances.

Handouts will be provided so students can 'take away' what they have learned. Class sizes are strictly limited to allow plenty of space to dance and time for individual feedback. This workshop is designed for absolute beginners, who claim they 'can't dance a step'!
