Folk Song In England 1850-1950: One-Day Course

This one-day course is aimed at those who want to learn more about the roots and development of traditional English folk music. Hear rarely-played field recordings of singers from across the country and watch archival film as you learn about the historical, social and personal contexts of folk singing.

The course is inspired by The Full English, the world’s largest digital archive of traditional English folk song and dance music, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and supported by the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Led by renowned folklorist Steve Roud.
