Bullets And Daffodils - The Wilfred Owen Story
Ahead of the Centenary of WW1, the piece represents a passionate tribute in song, spoken word and physical expression.
"Bullets and Daffodils is and has a good contemporary way of introducing people of all ages, but particularly the younger, to Wilfred's poetry." - (Peter Owen, Wilfred's Nephew)
War poetry as it's never been heard before: Wilfred Owen - A Voice Reborn!
Regarded as the greatest war poet of WW1, Owen is second only to Shakespeare as the most studied poet of all time on the curriculum. Dean Johnson has set many of Owen's greatest poems to music, and tells the story of the doomed poet's life from his childhood in Birkenhead to his death in the trenches.
The script contains contributions from Doctor Who writer David Quantick, whilst the score includes There's No Way Out Of Here, donated gratis from Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.
