The Mozart Question
From the author of War Horse, former Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo returns to the Festival for a unique musical retelling of his heart-breaking story The Mozart Question.
Lesley, a young newspaper reporter, is given a warning before she sets off for Venice to interview the great violinist Paolo Levi: don’t ask ‘the Mozart question’. But she doesn’t have to, because Levi has decided the time has come to tell his story.
Joined by actress Alison Reid, violinist Daniel Pioro and a string quartet, Morpurgo explores the subject matter of his story with a sensitivity suitable for family audiences – a story of survival, the horrors of the holocaust and the incredible healing power of music.
Suitable for ages 8 and over.
