Trumpet and flugelhorn giant Bruce Adams teams up with award-winning saxophonist Alan Barnes and an all-star rhythm section for this sure-fire pre-Christmas romp. The two horn men have been popular sparring partners on the jazz scene for some time – a long-running partnership which has been playing straight-ahead, fiery, unpretentious, swinging jazz for over 20 years. The band features a swing-to-bop repertoire with tunes by Coleman Hawkins, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Strayhorn and Johnny Hodges. The swinging, stellar rhythm section features Dave Newton on piano, Andrew Cleydert on double bass and Bobby Worth on drums. Expect verbal fireworks, tinder-dry humour and laughter aplenty as well as uplifting musicality – a gig to get you in the Christmas party mood, if ever there was one.
