Mojo

Mojo is the first play by Jez Butterworth, world renowned for smash hit Jerusalem. This, his first effort took the West End by storm in 1995.

Set in a room under the infamous Atlantic Club in Soho 1958, the underling boys who work in the club are faced with a panic situation when club owner Ezra refuses to sell his prized asset Silver Jonny, a rising Rock 'n' roll star to gangster rival Sam Ross. Ezra is returned to the club in two separate dustbins, sparking a power struggle for control between ambitious Mickey and Ezra's son Baby.

As a crowd gathers outside the club expecting it to open for business, the boys find themselves under siege with only a rusty cutlass and an ancient pistol for defence.

Tempers fray and the veneer of adopted American cool slips as catastophe looms for all at the club.

The dialogue fizzes like a doodlebug in this fast paced black comedy as the boys try to work out what to do before it's too late...
