Gamelan Chandra Gita Suara

Gamelan Chandra Gita Suara (Orchestra of the Sound of the Light of the Moon) is Plymouth University's Balinese Gamelan with Gong Kebyar instruments - a collection of tuned metallic percussion consisting of metallophones, gongs and drums.

Directed by Saj Collyer, the group meets weekly to learn traditional and contemporary repertoire, both as complete pieces, and as studies for the development of practical technique. The Plymouth University Gamelan group will be joined by guest performers in other styles of world music for this event.
