Making the Modern Series.
Some of the most beautiful architecture in India, including the incomparable Taj Mahal, was commissioned by the Mughal dynasty.
Dr Malini Roy examines the period of Mughal paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, and highlights the key sites where Indian painting particularly flourished, their purposes and their patronage.
Malini's research focuses on Mughal painting and Company paintings produced during the late 18th and early 19th century in the provinces of Awadh and Bengal, as well as at the Mughal capital of Delhi.
