Beetlemania
See different methods of how beetles are imaged and how the order known as ‘coleoptera’ has been portrayed in popular culture, science and myth in this exhibition produced by the Collections Team at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, in partnership with Plymouth University. The exhibition will also use two important contributors to the Museum’s natural history collections to illustrate how beetles have been studied in recent decades: Jack Spittle, who donated a number of beetles preserved in alcohol along with notebooks and illustrations to the Museum, and James
Higman Keys, whose pinned beetle collection contains over 30,000 different specimens.
