‘Humour is emotional chaos remembered in tranquillity ’wrote James Thurber. Well, in ‘Yes, Prime Minister’ there’s precious little tranquillity, but an abundance of humour, problems necessitating media manipulation, devious political machinations and a plea for divine intervention during a panic-stricken weekend at Chequers.

This is satire at its sharp and gleeful best and it is very, very funny indeed.
