The 700 Year Anniversary Of Bannockburn

On the eve of the historic 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn, Scone Palace is inviting visitors to come along to celebrate Scotland's famous victory against King Edward II, at the site where the heroic Robert I was crowned in 1306.

In a unique event for all the family, visitors will be able to stand on iconic Moot Hill where the crowning took place, then cast their imaginations forward eight years to the two days of fierce constant battle as King Robert the Bruce and his squire, in the company of some of his brave warriors, stage living history battle re-enactments in the grounds of the Palace.

There’s an opportunity to hear the story of Bruce's greatest victory, learn about the weapons and tactics used by the Scots at the famous battle and
even feel the weight of the weapons and equipment used by the soldiers of the period.
