Mozart & Moz-art
Programme to include:
Mozart Divertimento in D, K136
Pärt Mozart-Adagio for Violin, Cello and Piano
Haydn Concerto for Violin and Piano No. 6 in F major
Schnittke Moz-Art à la Haydn
Mozart Piano Concerto No.12 in A major, K414
Elegant refinement from Mozart and Haydn forms the focus for this collaboration with Perth-born pianist Alasdair Beatson.
He's the soloist in Mozart's brilliant, high-spirited Piano Concerto No.12, and he joins Scottish Ensemble Artistic Director, violinist Jonathan Morton, in Haydn's witty Double Concerto in F. In between, two more recent composers provide commentaries on those two great Classical masters: Arvo Pärt in his mesmeric and profoundly moving Mozart-Adagio, and Alfred Schnittke in his theatrical and mischievously funny Moz-Art à la Haydn.
