From World War I onwards, each troubled chapter of global bloodshed is alluded to. Dean Johnson's contemporary song cycle utilises with a modern approach, musical instruments that were at hand in the trenches, including authentic 'found' percussion objects which include actual shell cases from the Somme itself.
