Caribbean Open: Call For Submissions

Painting, textiles, sculpture, graffiti, jewellery, drawing, video, photography, anything goes.

Surface Gallery invites all local artists to explore and embrace Caribbean culture. The event will coincide with this year's Nottingham Caribbean Carnival, taking place across the city on 16th and 17th of August.

Up to six pieces can be submitted per person, for £5 per work or £20 for six, and every submission will be displayed. All we ask is that your work be Caribbean themed. Application packs can be downloaded from www.surfacegallery.org or paper copies can be picked up from the gallery during opening hours.

Deadline for submissions Tuesday 12th August 6:00pm.

Launch Party Friday 15th August 6:00pm - 9:00pm:
Live music from DJ Kevin Roach (Kemet Radio); BBQ by Uncle Wayne's Jerk Station; Market stall by Royal Natty; Large-scale graffiti by Notts Property; Homemade rum punch.

Exhibition 16th - 30th August.
Local market & workshops Saturday 23rd August.
