Equus

Made famous to a new generation of theatregoers by Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe in 2007, but written in 1973, Equus, by Peter Shaffer, tells the story of a teenage boy, Alan, caught between a religious mother and an atheist father, who finds friendship and companionship in horses. However, after a dramatic event when Alan inexplicably loses control, a child psychologist is called in to help him understand the cause of his actions while wrestling with his own sense of purpose.
